                                                                 "IT WAS SUNNY JUST A SEC AGO.."

The rain was rather heavy. People were running & scattering like little vermin. The forecast was oddly off today, saying that it would be sunny. "Bright, sunny sky, great day for walks in the park." A young teenage boy with white hair mocked what he'd heard earlier before leaving the house. Not only was it supposed to be Sunny & bright, but clear for the entire day. "You'd think that includes dry." The teen frowned at the shady weather. Unlike that many kids and parents, he did not run or hide from the precipitation. He casually remained still under a large tree not too far from the fountain. Here he was protected from the harsh treatment of the rain.

Not with these flimsy shoes. The boy looked down at his feet. He was wearing a white pair of Van style shoes that he'd picked up just the other day from a new store on Jellyfish Street. Above his knees were his cuffed, soft red short shorts with a striped belt which had a basic white t-shirt tucked in. What a wasted outfit. The boy reached into his black bag in search of his phone. I know you're in there. The boy found it & looked up to see/hear that the rain had almost instantly stopped.

Strange weather today. The boy cheered up a bit with slight confusion. Looking back up to the sky, it was clear again & quite sunny. However not a person was in sight. All of the families had dispersed, leaving the park empty and stranded. 

The boy would stand in place momentarily trying to think of a path to get from under the tree and back onto the walking path without stepping into any deep puddles of mud. I can wait for it to dry I guess. Vaan rested in place, looking at his phone. It was only just a little into the day yet it seemed like a new day was starting.

                                                                                  "WHO INVITED YOU?"

The sun was beginning to pierce the sky a bit, all bad weather was now deceased. Vaan checked his email to see that no one had text him or sent him anything. Which wasn't surprising. It was more so a compulsive habit for him. He even checked his social media to find very little updates aside from just a few friend requests. His idle time passing however was interrupted by the sounds of another in the park. 

His head lifted from his chest as he checked to see who it was. His hopes of seeing one his classmates, or another human in general, were dashed as he looked upon the black, shadowy figure. It's one of you again. The teen frowned and reached into his bag to pull out his weapon. I'm glad I grabbed the wrong bag. He held the windmill shuriken in his hand, still closed.

Still rather new to the game, Vaan didn't have any planned strategy to go about getting rid of the thing, but it had to be done. And soon. Opening the windmill shuriken to release the other three blades, Vaan would run at the creature and leap into the air slightly while holding it away from himself. In the instant he left the ground, the shuriken was propelled forward, aiming for the oni.

The boy's shuriken landed a decent blow, seeing this the boy cheered for himself as he landed upon the somewhat mushy ground. Not bad I guess. The shuriken would fly off as the oni charged at Vaan. The boy frowned and jumped to the side. Landing in more mushy dirt, the boy's frown broke and turned to a blank face.

My shoes are getting dirtier. His eyes shot toward the oni. Let's hurry this up then. His smile returned as he turned back to catch the shuriken. With the oni having come closer, Vaan would take advantage and charge at it. Folding it back into one thick blade, Vaan would slash at the oni thrice in an attempt to pick up the pace.

MAGICAL BOY TO THE RESCUE (WARNING: DORK.)

If he's being honest with himself, he likes being pelted by rain. He likes the humidity and refreshing coolness rain usually brings. Plus who doesn't like running around in a fucking downpour? Losers, that's who. What he doesn't like, however, is the fact that rain tends to make running on wet concrete slightly difficult. Also, there's that troublesome off-chance that he can catch some weird cold or whatever. (Not that anyone - i.e., he - cares about that.) Anyway, so he's walking in the park getting soaked to the bone by the rain when all of the sudden an Oni crops up. Normally, anyone with two brain cells to rub together would run for their life at the sight of this monstrous beast. Not him. (And, apparently, neither the pale-haired guy with the giant shuriken thing.) Hopefully this fight would help break up the recent monotony of boredom and quiet. A wicked grin stretches across the blue-haired teenager as he pulls out a pair of guns from the confines of his now drenched pack. Then he rushes at the demon from behind before leaping towards its back. "SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER." A couple of shots ring out through the rain.

Taking a few successful strikes at the creature, the boy would take the blow and jump back some. Fortunately the rain that started back up wasn't too heavy to interfere with Vaan's combat. Being a novice, he needed to focus as much as an inexperienced driver on the road. Jumping back after his strikes, Vaan readied the next. 

Just before his next strike, Vaan noticed a sudden energetic outburst from another person in the park. Th other boy's voice echoed through the quite silent park, being caught by Vaan's ears instantly. Followed by his exclamation were two bullets that struck the fowl creature as well. Cool! Vaan gazed upon the mysterious eye-patched guy.

Seeing the guy land blows somewhat fired up Vaan a bit more. Having backed away from the oni, Vaan readied to strike it again. Opening up the shuriken to reveal the four blades, Vaan would call out to his sudden ally. Look out! The windmill shuriken cleared ground and headed for the oni.

OH SHIT TIME TO RUN

He has to squint a little because, see, the rain kind of makes his vision like a hundred times worse. And it really sucks having to see with one eye because then his whole right side is basically his blindspot. So it's more than mortifying that when he (finally) manages to catch a glimpse of the giant ass shuriken heading towards his way he makes a very embarrassing, surprised yelp. He hastily jumps off the demon and barrel rolls away to gain some distance. Just for the sake of looking cool, he takes a potshot at the Oni as he runs towards the white-haired guy. Sidling up next to the guy, he decides to introduce himself. "Name's Ren! What's yours?" He has to practically shout over the noisy downpour.

                                                                 "YOU'RE STILL HERE ?!"

Seeing the the shuriken miss Rin pretty well, Vaan sighed with relief. It was great to avoid such an unwanted casualty. Gotta be careful. He noted to himself.

Keeping his eyes on the oni and the newcomer, Vaan watched the oni take quite another combination of hits as well as the other boy roll along the ground & get to Vaan's side. Though it was mid fight, Vaan was always more than happy to meet another person that could see oni and was helping to eliminate them. I'm Vaan! The boy smiled at Ren, making sure his voice could be heard over the rain.

The rain began to lighten up a bit, becoming more like drizzle for the moment. Lovely weather. The boy commented, only to see the boy by his side struck by the oni. Jumping back a foot or so, Vaan would effortlessly catch the windmill shuriken and fold it back into a single blade.

Vaan charged at the demonic figure before slashing at the oni thrice more, checking up on the other guy. It was quite foolish of the two to make introductions without keeping an eye on the oni. Surely they had learned their lesson. Or at least, Ren learned.

WELP DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING

The grin on his widens. "Nice to mee--" Ren doesn't get the chance to finish that sentence when the Oni swipes its claws at him. It's only by pure chance the first hit misses, but then Ren gets shoulder-checked. The force of the hit sends him skidding down the pavement. He rolls with the impact and pushes himself onto his feet. His eyesight is blurry and his head is aching, but he tries to shake the pain off as he aims for the demon again. He shoots three times before running off to create more distance between him and the Oni. Then he hunches over, suddenly out of breath. He briefly notes the little trickle of red running down his left leg from a badly skinned knee. Damn. His mom's going to be pissed when she sees that. Ren looks up to find Vaan at his side again. "Forgot about the giant vicious demon for a sec there." He says lightly.

The duo was doing great as far as time! Thank goodness Ren showed up when he did. Vaan would've been here forever trying to get rid of this creature. Even the weather was lightening up, with the sun beginning to beam down upon Olympus yet again.

The teen could only look to his partner in awe. Please tell me you're okay. He noted to himself before Ren fired more shots. After the slashing, Vaan made distance between himself and the demon, meeting back up with Ren. That was a hard hit. Vaan chuckled a bit to the side, laughing a little at the other boy.

Hearing him say to forget about the oni for a moment surprised him a little. It's funny you say that. He poked fun at Ren with a playful tone. It's nice to meet you though. Are you new to this? He asked his new acquantence only to be interupted by the oni's sudden attempt at striking Vaan.

Hold that thought. He charged at the oni. Glowing with a strong golden aura, Vaan would appear to have transformed into a beam of light that crashed into the oni, reverting him back to his normal form and pushing the oni back a little. 

I'm getting better. Vaan cheered, swinging his folded windmill shuriken at the demonic figure thrice more.

HOLY - HE CAN TELEPORT?!

The downpour's starting to turn into a very light drizzle as the sun peeks out from the storm clouds. Sooner or later, they might see a nice rainbow in the sky. What a delightful and lovely day he picked to go and fight an Oni. He laughs, cringing slightly at the stinging pain. "Hell yea, I'm doing great -- awhellno." Their short convo gets cut short when the Oni attempts to strike the both of them. While Vaan's charging head on at the monster, Ren decides to take the more cautious approach by dashing away from the line of fire. Just as he's about to take aim and fire, his jaws drops. No. Fucking. Way. Did that dude just transform into a beam of light? Ren is not about to be one-upped by Vaan, the dude who can teleport by light. So as he sprints towards the Oni in a zigzagging path, he fires once, twice -- "EAT LEAD" -- thrice.
